PVC picket
A vinyl fence is also low-maintenance. Unlike painted fences, vinyl fencing comes from the factory precolored. The vinyl panels themselves are dyed, so you will never have to paint your fence. You can wash any discoloration with dish soap and a hose if you see any. In fact, you should probably hose the fence off at least twice a year.
Additionally, vinyl fencing is durable. Vinyl fencing isn’t susceptible to rot or insects that feed on wood, such as termites. These pests eat wood and cause holes, but they don’t eat vinyl. PVC is also not prone to splintering or cracking. In general, vinyl remains intact for many years.
Building a wooden picket fence can be a time-consuming project. The contractors must erect the posts and install first the rails and then the pickets. Depending on the size of your property, this process can take a day or more to complete.
With vinyl fencing, manufacturers use polyvinyl chloride to create fencing panels that resemble wooden picket fencing. The contractors must still erect the posts, but they then span the space with the prefabricated panels. The process is much faster than building the fence from scratch.
